Greetings from ‘The Pastor’s Study’,
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24)
There is something special about when we come together for worship. The Head joins the ‘body’ in a special way. The significance of coming to church isn’t primarily that we bring ourselves to worship, but rather that we bring our worship to church. We have been with the Lord all week long, and when we gather as a group – all of us full of God – we don’t come to get filled up, we’re already full of God. We come to celebrate together.
What are you saying about your life when you come to worship? You’re saying “God is important to me”. That’s why we don’t “forsake the assembling of ourselves together” (Hebrews 10:25), but we exhort (encourage) one another. We encourage one another with the sermon, the songs, and every aspect of our gathering. This worship continues through the rest of our week. Every day is a ‘holy day’ and every ground is ‘sacred ground’, but we still assemble as brothers and sisters in Christ, bringing our worship to the Lord and encouraging others.
We hope to see you Sunday morning as we celebrate together. 60 Melville Rd. @ 10:30, or on YouTube/ City Bible Church SSM by 9:00 AM. Our message this week is ‘The Love That Brings The Light’ as we continue through the Gospel of John in the series ‘Who Is This Jesus’.
