Oh give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
make known His deeds among His peoples!
1 Chron. 16:8
Is it just me, or does it seem Thanksgiving has come early this year? Maybe it’s because the weather is still so summery. It’s never too early to be thankful. This weekend many will be with family and friends reflecting on thankfulness for all we have. Thankfulness is more than words, although words are a necessary part of it. Thankfulness in our lives is a witness.
In so many of his Psalms, David wanted to tell how great the Lord is and the occasion of bringing the ‘Ark of the Covenant‘ to Jerusalem, was no exception. He wanted everyone to join in the celebration of praise in his song of thanksgiving found in 1st. Chronicles 16. This psalm is long and rich. What can you add to the list of things we are to be thankful for? A thankful heart is a testimony to the greatness of God.
