SAVED OR ENSLAVED

“And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but that these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20: 30-31)

These verses make it abundantly clear who Jesus is, and the reason He came. I used to think that what you had to do for people to be saved was to simply tell them how to be saved. Just “turn on the light”. But it doesn’t matter how much light there is if a person is blind. Salvation takes more than preaching for people to be saved. I can preach truth, but only the Holy Spirit can impart truth. That is one reason why prayer is so important. We are dependant on God to open blinded eyes to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Then once you have the light, you need to learn to see. That is the process of Sanctification, going deeper into your faith. Man’s greatest need is to admit and confess spiritual blindness. When we do, God opens our eyes and gives us sight.
