Greetings All,

In my message on Sunday morning, I spoke of how Peter had learned to trust fully in the Lord, to the point of being in a deep sleep, while chained between two guards awaiting his own ‘beheading’.  So confident, that scripture tells us the angel had to literally hit him to wake him up. (Acts 12)   It was that same confidence that gave him the boldness to preach the message of the cross.

“Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people,

but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after

He arose from the dead.”          Acts 10: 40,41

Where did Peter get confidence in the message he preached?  Some may have asked, “Peter, are you sure He wasn’t a ghost?” Peter would have likely replied, “A ghost!?  We ate and drank with Him.  We touched Him.”

Many have questioned if this was all a lie. Men may live for a lie, but no man will willingly die for a lie. People tell lies to get out of trouble, not to get into trouble. These people, with no hope of personal gain, knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus was alive, and they were convinced of His virtuous life. They were convinced of His vicarious death. They were convinced of His victorious resurrection. He’s alive!
