Meditate on these things?

Have you ever caught yourself staring off into space in the wonderful indulgence of daydreaming? We longingly think of something we are looking forward to. Or perhaps we replay a delightful conversation we’ve had. There is hope-filled anticipation of what is to come and there is joy in remembering what once was.

Having this incredible ability reflects the amazing design that God spoke into existence. In its purest form, it has the profound ability to connect us with our Creator and move us to respond with love towards Him and the rest of His creation. It cultivates peace and contentment. Ironically, this same ability is the arena where we fight our greatest battles.  Scripture speaks to protecting this part of our being, and to do it with tenacity…

8) “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9) The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”    Philippians 4:8,9
