IMPOTENCE MEETS OMNIPOTENCE

‘I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.’   Gal. 2:20

Go with me for a minute…    imagine a wedding. The vows have been said. The cake has been cut. The reception is over and the bride and groom are driving off. She looks at him and says “Please take me home.” He looks at her and says “Honey I can’t take you home. We’re going on our honeymoon, then I’ll take you home.” She says, “I don’t mean that, I want you to take me to my mothers. I’m glad that you’re my husband and I know that you love me, and I’m grateful to be your wife. I’ll try to come and see you on weekends, and if I get sick or need anything I’ll call you, but I’m going back to my old way of life.”

That doesn’t make sense does it? Have you ever heard anyone say, ” Lord, I ask you to be my Savior, but I’m going back to my old way of life. I’ll come and see you most Sundays, and if I get sick or need anything I’ll call.” Yet that is what is being said by those who are not ‘all in’. He gave Himself to us. We need to give all we are to Him.
