In just a couple of days it’ll be a ‘New Year’! 2023!!! How did it happen so fast? I’m sending this out a day early, as tomorrow, Krys and I will be travelling back home from visiting our ‘Grandgals’ (oh… and our son and daughter in law as well)
I have always really enjoyed the week between Christmas and New Year’s. We love to take the time to look back on the past year, and reflect on the goodness of God, but more importantly, to set our sights on what the Lord would have us do in the coming year, spiritually as well as physically.
2022 was an amazing year. The ‘church’ globally has had to deal with a great number of things. Would you agree that there seems to be a ‘famine in the land for hearing and responding to the Word of God’? There seems to be a deep hostility towards our precious Gospel. Churches are closing and/or dying on the vine at an alarming rate. There is only one hope… and that is in our faithful Lord, moving in power and might, in and through His church. But His church must turn to Him in humility, brokenness, and true repentance. (2nd. Chron. 7:14) To this end we pray and seek to call those who will heed His call through the preaching and teaching of His Word.
Thus Sunday we are talking about New Year’s Resolutions, from Colossians 3, and what I call the ‘put passage’. Join us for a wonderful time of worship and fellowship around the Word. 10:30 AM at City Bible Church (60 Melville Rd.) or on YouTube / City Bible Church SSM after 9 AM.
