From the Pastor’s Study

“Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days,
that I may know how frail I am.”  Psalm 39:4

Man is the only creature that knows he is going to die, and he is desperately trying to forget it. People don’t like to talk about death. They don’t want to face it. But, can I say that, if you are not prepared to die, you are not prepared to live. No man is ever ready to live until he is no longer afraid to die.  Jesus taught us that there are three great issues  all of us must face. Those issues are life, death, and eternity. Our message this week is one that speaks to those issues in a very real way.

Sunday morning our journey through John’s gospel finds us in the ‘least preached’ of Jesus’ miracles, The Nobleman’s Son. Our worship time begins at 10:30 and the message ‘ A Father, A Faith, A Family’ promises to challenge and encourage.

* Sunday night at 7 PM, we will be showing the movie ‘End of the Spear’. Last Sunday we learned that it was January 8th., 1956, that Jim Elliot and three other missionaries were killed by the Auca Indians. That event had a major impact on missions in our world going forward. Many of us have seen the movie, but many have not,  I hope you will come out and be with us.

Wednesday Night our Prayer Time and Bible Study is being well attended and we hope you’ll be with us, as Matt and Sandra lead us through a character study in the life of Samuel.

*** Calling all men…  Saturday morning at 10 AM we will be meeting for a continental breakfast and time of fellowship. We have some exciting news to share. Bring a friend!!!

In Christ alone,
Pastor Bill
