FROM THE PASTOR’S STUDY

As I prepare for the coming Sunday services, my mind is going in several directions. We are looking forward to the coming year of ministry as a church and I will be sharing our vision as we go along. The Lord is leading me through the message preparation. Our series in John picks up where we left off with the ‘Woman at the well‘. (our third message from this passage) It is the perfect picture of why we exist as a people of God. I hope you are a part of the vision, and, that you will pray for the Lord’s perfect will in what he has for us.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Think of the potential there is in one human soul. It is valuable, not only because of what it is, but also what it can be. You, in one day, can be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. I have a tiny little book in my library entitled, ‘Acres of Diamonds’ by Russell Conwell, in which he talks about a man who owned a farm in Africa. This man wanted diamonds. So, he sold his farm and went off looking for them. But the person he sold his farm to, discovered the land was loaded with diamonds. Sadly, the man who sold the farm for peanuts died penniless. The seller didn’t realize what he had. Your heart is on a search. You are standing in acres of diamonds spiritually-the potential that is in you. Our goal through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, Is to encourage you to be all you can be in Him, as you realize your potential.

We hope you can be with us Sunday morning for ‘Worship around the Word‘, beginning at 10:30. As I said, we are into our third message from the account of the ‘Woman at the Well‘, and I have titled it ‘A Passion For The Mission’. This week, after the service,  we are having a gift opening of the gifts brought for Jesus’ birthday. Afterwards, we will enjoy fellowship and birthday cake downstairs.

Sunday night at 7, we gather again for a time of worship, testimony and prayer and the message – ‘Shepherds & Servants’.

Our mid-week Bible Study on Wed. starts at 7, with Matt and Sandra leading us in a character study of Samuel.

*** Calling All Men… Saturday morning, January 14th. We hope you can be with us for a ‘kick-off’ mens meeting. A light breakfast (coffee & muffins) fellowship, testimony, and a short devotional from God’s Word. Next month our plan is a chile cook-off at a special surprise location.
