Fatal Attraction

“Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves, we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Psalm 100: 1-3

There is nothing that will prepare us for battle like worship! In 2 Chronicles 20:18 we are told that as Jehosaphat prepared for battle, “Jehosaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.” After he worshipped, he was ready for battle. Nothing prepares us for battle like worship. Someone said “the person who can kneel before God can stand before any problem.”

We have been inundated with pervasive darkness on every side of late. We are seeing and hearing of things that were not too long ago unheard of. Satan is a defeated foe and he knows his time is short. We see he is wreaking havoc, locally, nationally and internationally. As believers we have been called to stand against wickedness. It will be a great day when we learn that worship comes before work or warfare. It reminds me of the little boys who were playing ball. They only had one ball and it got lost in the weeds. When they couldn’t find it, one of them said, “forget the ball, let’s get on with the game.” I think that sometimes as believers, we forget to worship, and just get on with it. Worship reminds us what we were made for. To be the light in this dark world.
