“Come to Me, all you who are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
The other day I saw a bumper sticker that said… ‘If you think meekness is weakness, try spending a week being meek.’ Jesus was ‘meek and lowly of heart’, but He was far from weak. His strength was under control of the Father, He lived submitted to Him. If you want God to guide you He will. You won’t be like a ship in a storm without a compass, being driven by the waves of this world. People say, ‘Why doesn’t God speak?’ It’s not that He isn’t speaking, we aren’t hearing.

With summer officially here, we are taking the opportunity to take the pulpit ministry to a variety of passages the Lord has led us to. This Sunday we look at how to be a ‘Mary in a Martha world’, in a message I’ve titled… ‘Be Still, Be Quiet & Behave’. We begin our worship around the word at 10:30 sharp and promise not to end dull. This past Monday we had a day of prayer and fasting. We offered the chance for folks to come to the church to pray, for 5 minutes or 5 hours. It was so encouraging to see a steady flow of people throughout the day, (from 9 AM till 7 PM) Some came with personal needs, but all came to bring a list of serious needs to the Throne of Grace. Prayers were heard. Prayers were answered. Fasting included everything from food for the day to coffee to screen time. Our Lord is faithful to do ‘exceedingly and abundantly above all we could think or ask…’ Please let us know how we can pray for you and those you love.
