“Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.” Acts 10: 40,41
As Peter preached to Cornelius’ household, he made it very clear that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was a very real occurrence. Where did Peter get confidence in the message he preached? Many have questioned if this was all a lie. Men may live for a lie, but no man will willingly die for a lie. People tell lies to get out of trouble, not to get into trouble. These people, with no hope of personal gain, knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus was alive, and they were convinced of His virtuous life. They were convinced of His vicarious death. They were convinced of His victorious resurrection.
